So one of my really good friends finished her first marathon yesterday - I was so proud!
Her last name is Quon so we made these shirts that said "Team Quon" and went to various places along the route to cheer her on. I didn't realize how much fun it would be cheering on the other runners and they seemed to really appreciate it. Some even asked if they could join Team Quon.. ;D
So at about 31K, our friend was so beat that she didn't think she could do it. We walked about a K with her and then she summed up the energy to finish the rest (it's 42K)
Really shows what you can do if you want it bad enough. I think we all were crying when she crossed that finish line - it was really emotional. Talk about setting yourself a goal and meeting it, what a feeling of accomplishment!
