Hi!
Just got news from the construction of Wombats...it's been delayed a month, now being around the 1st of June...
Can't get that much time off starting of the 1st of june, so I have to leave beginning of may anyways!
So instead of starting in Vienna, i'll have to finish there...
I kind of feel bad to actually impose some type of condition to the trip I WON but I really want to make a real trip out of the week I won, and therefore I have to do it in may! i'm sure it's ok, but still, kind of sad not to start off there as a more relaxing week before doing the real backpacking!
oh well... thanks for letting me blow off steam!

Oh gee...that is too bad! Not sure in my mind what your travel plans were...but can you still go in May and end with a week in early June and make that work? If so...heck gal...you can spend what you like and know you have place to sleep that last week! Ya know...travel is al about unexpected hassles and it looks like you may have just come up against one! Sure hope it all works out!

Thanks Ging and Cat for the encouragements!
It isn't horrible news it's just
1. I hate travelling in the summer crowds, so May was PERFECT for me!
2. A month and a few days is a lot of time off from work and I can only get that if I take it in May!
But everything will work out i'm sure, it's just that May is far and the date has a lot of time to be pushed back again...and if so, than I'm in trouble, i'd feel bad to say, giv eme the tickets and I won't be there for the opening, but i'd also be in deep trouble with work!
Oh well, no panicking anyways, for Europe, I'll quit my job, sell my car heheheh

Me again! Guess what? I have no travelling partner anymore. I left my boyfriend this week.... Long story but kind of worried about the travelling now... Oh well, just felt like sharing! This is such a shitty week. I leave him, I have a huge sinus cold today, feel like crap, have a huge halloween party tonight to which I will be going ALONEEEE (idiot!) and I know absolutely nobody! Oh well, time to meet new friends! Thanks for letting me share  |

That's terrible! Go out and make new friends! You don't need him! You'll be fine travelling by yourself, you're smart enough to know what to avoid and how to protect yourself!  BTW, I'm available for a travel buddy... ;D |

No, this hasn't been a good week for you, Jen. but, think of it as an opportunity! [aren't we supposed to think of challenges as opportunities?]
you've obviously got a winning personality, that comes through even here. and your picture on here shows that you're attractive. this Halloween party might be your chance to get back into circulation.
as far as the trip goes, i prefer to travel alone. it makes one self reliant. it makes you more open to fun, serendipitous things that come up. and there's no one to ask if you want to change plans. but, it's harder to blame someone else if things don't turn out well. [others are less willing to approach you if there are two. this can be a good thing, but it can also be a bad thing.]
you're a grown woman, Jen. you can manage on your own.

I know I can manage! The travelling alone part doesn't bother me at all, it's mostly the "i don't want to waste a ticket thing"!
Oh well, we'll see.
I actually went to the party, had a great time and saw an old blind date that I hadn't seen in months. It's far fetched, but we'll see with time! i'm sure not going to get into another relationship soon!

brrr yes jen! at least the weekend was nice and warm... but the scarves and mitts are definately out of the closet now. i was in mtl this weekend and the weather was lovely.

I know many don't understand/agree....but gosh, I wish I was there! I am a 'winter' gal and though I just came in from reading on the patio at sunny and 77 degrees, I'd be pleased to be putting on my parka!  |
