Although I am not planning a trip, I still like looking at accommodation sites for various cities. I found one place in Rome that I definitely won't stay at.
From the description: Our first three rules are, NO discussions of POLITICS, NO discussions of RELIGION, and... DRINK! DRINK! DRINK! ... We have no curfew, why would we? We get you wasted on pub crawl. Our check out is 12:00 midday, becauseā¦ you'll probably be hung over (most likely somewhat our fault)
========== As we always point out, some hostels are quiet places . . . and some are party hostels. So it's always good to research your preference.

an idea i've heard in the past: stay at a "quiet" hostel to sleep, but visit the party hostel for fun.

Exactly! Like me when I went to Vienna! Stay at Hostel Ruthensteiner (think that was the name) and we went over to Wombat's to party! Who knew they'd be giving me two tickets to thank me

Yup, I know, it was annoying cause we weren't even partying. We were just all talking about our countries and travelling experiences, not even having beer most of the time!
But I was talking to the girl who worked there and she was telling me, they don't care at all, but they have crappy neighbors and the police has had to come many times and it's costing them fines and stuff, so they can't have that happen anymore in case of more fines!
Oh well, BOOOOOO CRAPPY NEIGHBORS!
