What the title says. I just saw Brokeback Mountain which is suppossedly an Oscar contender and I agree! It's such a beautiful movie, I was crying in the end, although it wasn't fully appreciated by all cuz there was someone snoring in back of me Very sad though I warn you all but a very realistic love story I also want to see King Kong which I hear is very good, maybe i'll go tomorrow to cheer myself up after this movie

King Kong was pretty good (and also pretty long...they could've cut 30 minutes out, easy). If you ever go to the Aventura Mall to see a movie, stop by Waldenbooks and see if I'm working!

The last movie I saw was Syriana, and it is has also been mentioned as an Oscar contender. I thought it was a good movie, although the stories "jumped around" a bit so it was hard to follow at times. I found it to be very "thought provoking", as I was thinking about it for days afterwards.
The next movie I see will probably be Munich, which is supposed to open Dec. 23rd. I imagine the studios will be dumping a bunch of new movies into the theatres at Christmas time, so there should be lots of choices.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas (watching movies or whatever)!!!

Jules, I've never seen the Maurice Richard movie listed out in this part of the world. Perhaps it's showing in the Vancouver area, but so far not here in the Okanagan. I usually prefer "action / adventure" movies, so usually look for those when the new films are released. I enjoyed "Transporter 2" although I admit that some of the scenes in the movie were phoney and far fetched (the "hose fight" scene was very well done!).
Cheers!!!

I just saw a "clip" on Italian TV with a few scenes from "The da Vinci Code" (starring Tom Hanks). It won't be released until the spring (I think?), but I will be seeing that one FOR SURE the day it opens!!! The movie looks like it contains lots of great scenes from various parts of Europe (especially Paris).

ah, Cinderella! as i hadn't seen "Ever After," or even heard of it, i didn't know what you're talking about. Drew Barrymore and Anjelica Huston. (per imdb.com) these two with top billing are a good cast. never heard of the others. interesting that they have Leonardo in Cinderella! another in the troika of great thinkers mentioned recently: Italian - da Vinci 1452-1519 French - Descartes 1596 - 1650 German - der Einstein 1879 - 1955 - d

This past weekend I saw Memoirs of a Geisha. It got pretty bad reviews at least here in Miami but I really don't know why?? I read the book years ago and the movie seemed pretty true to it. Plus I thought the visuals were stunning and the acting not bad. I really want to see king kong, will prolly see it next weekend
