commie, I believe Tadoussac is in the Province of Quebec - that's what "PQ" is referring to (Canadians use the word "Province" rather than "State"). Is this the location you mean - www.tadoussac.com/newsite/tourismeeng/accueil.htm? I've never heard of Prittish Quolumbia" I believe the French spelling for the Province of British Columbia is Colombie Britannique (perhaps one of our members from Quebec could confirm this). Hope this helps. Cheers!!!

LOL sorry must laugh! Tadoussac is a native american word. don't remember what it means exactly (although i seem to remember it being related to a part of the female anatomy... something to do with the shape of the mountains). 1st off, canada doesn't have states, that's the US. we have provinces. it is in PQ = province of Quebec. calling tadoussac a city is very generous. its a very small town. maybe 3,000 inhabitants. it is however very touristy cause its on the st-lawrence and is a great place to go whale watching. that's basically what the town does. it is about a 6 hour drive east of montreal or 3 hours east of quebec city. without a car there is a very long, milk-run bus ride to get there. they even have a youth hostel. i did field work about 20 min from there for 3 summers. very beautiful place and lots of amazing places to hike. the french spelling of british columbia is colombie britanique. many province names don't change drastically from english to french because they're native american in origin (quebec, ontario, manitoba, saskatchewan) even Canada is a native american name... it means something along the lines of village. quebec (yes its a province and a city) means something like where the river narrows. as for the rest i have no idea what they mean... i'm sure its just cause i didn't grow up there... never commited that bit of useless trivia to memory are you planning on visiting canada and the US?
