Hi all, it's me torturer of children. I don't know if anyone still remembers me but I used to post here for a while when I was in my Europe kick I've just logged in after not doing so for almost a year and noticed the same old guard is still here!! Eagle and David thanks for messaging me and boo for me for not responding but like I said I haven't been here in ages. I'm glad you recovered fully eagle, way to go!! I really have no excuse for never posting, I've been into other things and such. I finally moved into my new condo in June of last year and I love it. That's the good news, the bad news is that I just did my taxes and I owe 10,000 dollars to uncle SAM With all the expenses I had last year with the closing and buying furniture and such I didn't pay taxes quarterly like I should so now I'm stuck with this huge bill! So, I'm poor now he he. I really should adopt a child or maybe just have one of my own to claim as a dependent, anyone interested in helping me? I hope everyone has bee doing good and traveling much. Did dumbdiety move already??

Hey, I guess I'm another prodigal son . Been insanely busy lately with work, studying etc, so haven't really had much time for the internet other than the essentials such as Facebook . Still, it's good to be back .

Stanncie, great to hear from you!!! Of course I remember you, but I thought you'd forgotten about us?
I suppose I've "recovered fully", but still have a bit of difficulty with stairs. It didn't stop me from going to Europe for two months last fall though. Hiking up four flights of stairs with a 60 lb. Backpack was somewhat "challenging", but I managed. I'm still visiting the Physio clinic for a minor back problem, and hopefully I'll be able to get that sorted before too long (there was also a "foot problem" but that's a long story).
Sorry to hear about your "bad news". You'll have to "torture" a whole bunch of small children to make enough money to cover an amount like that! Will they allow you to pay the arrears off with installments or does it all have to be paid in a lump sum? I'm happy to hear that all is well at your new Condo.
Having a dependant might provide a short-term financial benefit, but you'll probably find (like the rest of us) that children can be VERY expensive!
Muvver, you've been missed also. Good to have you back!!! I certainly know what it's like to be so busy with work that one doesn't have time to get on the net. However, GFE is one of my "essentials" so I try to pop-in here at least once a day.
Hopefully you'll both visit us on a regular basis again.
Cheers!!!

They're baaaaaaaaaaack! Wow, there are two names I haven't see in ages! Welcome back folks!
I know about the busy stuff - am about to disappear into a vortex of extreme business in a month and probably won't surface until October - but I'm almost addicted to GFE so will try to visit often.
Nice to "see" you both again! ;D

Jules, quit your job!! Good heavens, you won't have any money for travels. By the way, which "horrid city" were you referring to?
Good luck with your move! Hope everything goes well.

Jules, so you'll be doing "domestic" travels this year? Heading to both coasts is a bit of a challenge (and probably a bit expensive!). That's probably something I should think about in future, as I haven't been further east than Regina. Maybe one day when my interest in European travel wanes (whenever that might be?), I'll check out central Canada and the Maritimes.
I kind of thought you might be referring to Toronto as the "horrid city". I've never been there, but many people I've spoken to seem to share your opinion. It must have some redeeming qualities though, as most of the residents there seem to like it (that is, unless they haven't figured out a way to "escape" yet?).
Good luck with your move!!!

haha thanks eagle! its redeeming qualities are good theatre, good shopping, and a proximity of wineries... however all three can be accessed through a weekend and do not necessitate living in this suburban nightmare i love the east coast. can't wait to go back! i'll drive out east. flying out west with the rents for my dad's 60th this year.

living in this suburban nightmare Ah yes, that I do remember about Toronto...and the giant parking lot that is the 407 (or is that 401, or 409, or 427 or just anything towards Missasauga??!! Only good thing to come out of Missasauga is the band Hidden Cameras!).

no the 401 is the parking lot... the 407 you gotta pay for the 427 you can't do more than 100 meters on without being forced to change lanes cause the one you're in dissapears.... driving in toronto is not for the faint of heart
