I did - I spent much of the past two days at the Vancouver Jazz Festival. Very nice venues with beautiful surroundings, very relaxing, and free, high-quality music!

Thanks - although I must say I spent most of Canada Day lying on a couch due to a pulled back muscle (typical!). But we had some family from Victoria and Vancouver come visit us down in Ottawa. They got a treat when they saw a deer and a neighbour's cat squaring off behind our house

Thanks! I didn't do anything very exciting, and didn't even bother attending the local Canada Day celebrations in the local park (they're pretty much the same every year, so I probably didn't miss anything?). Our city government with their usual efficiency, didn't bother organizing the fireworks show so we didn't have one (even though there were funds to buy fireworks). I spent most of my day watching the Concert for Diana in High-Def. It was fantastic!
However, I did get one of the lawns cut and some gardening done, and it was nice to get those out of the way (might be having family visitors later in the week, so want the place to look "presentable" - will try to cut the other lawn today). The local "Funtastic" softball tournament took place on the weekend, and if the "racket" from the beer gardens on Saturday night was any indication, a good time was had by one and all! The sounds of the live bands could be clearly heard one-two miles away!
Hope everyone is having a great summer!
