Is it worth putting your pack in a sack or wrapping it in that bubble wrap?
Will the straps or buckles get damaged if you just put the backpack as is on the plane

kylie,
the last time i checked my pack, they put it in plastic for me.... i think they wont let you put it on the plane any other way...or maybe it just depends on different airlines....call your airline and see what they specifications are.....

Many of the packs nowadays, say like Eagle Creek, have built in cover that zips in all the straps for on the planes. Check to see if your pack has one-should be at the bottom, often in a velcro compartment.
If you have the option, go with the plastic at the airport. Makes it so it doesn't catch on the conveyer belt.
If not, just tuck in all straps as good as you can and don't worry too much about it.
