So, if you couldn't tell by the title of the post, I want to show you all freerice.com It's a really cool web site where you can test your vocabulary and help to end world hunger. You donate 10 grains of rice for every word you can correctly define, and don't worry, it's multiple choice. It doesn't sound like 10 grains is a lot, but I've already donated at least 500 grains. For every 3 words you get right you move up a level, and for each one you get wrong you go down a level. I'm generally gravitating around level 30. There are 50 in all, and it's rare to get over level 48. Warning: Words can be a little challenging, but don't be discouraged. It's actually really fun, at least for an English geek like me.
~Mar My best friend, Mieke, emailed the hyperlink to me. it's soooo addicting.

yeah, tried that out after i saw it on the news a week, or so, back. having done it 2 or 3 times, i've donated a few rice grains myself. it's a bit of a time sponge, so i don't want to go back that often. the same news show mentioned www.glassbooth.org as a way to see which presidential candidate is a best match for your stances. www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html purports to do the same thing. but, www.glassbooth.org seemed to match me better.

I very much enjoy free rice. They've upped the rice per click to 20 grains too! I usually do this when I'm on the phone or doing some other thing at the computer where my whole brain isn't occupied.
