But I am about to run out of Internet time. A very interesting place, and nothing scary has happened.
More when I get a chance.

I am at the Mexico City airport right now. It was a fabulous trip. I think anyone who likes Rome will like Mexico City. The art, history, and culture are amazing. Everything went really well, and I had no unsafe incidents.

I just got back in the last hour.
I volunteered to be bumped and to get a free trip voucher, and instead of flying MEX-SFO-SEA-YVR, I ended up flying MEX-SFO-YVR and only arriving 19 minutes later than the previous itinerary.
Everything about this trip went really well. Now I have to figure out how to fit in a trip somewhere in the continental US.
More about Mexico City in the next few days - like I said, an amazing place.

Wow, how do you remember all this stuff? There is a show on the Dutch television that is set in different parts of Mexico. It looks really good, and reading your report (or should I say travel guide ) makes me want to go there. Unfortunately it has to wait a while.

I do have a pretty good memory, but I find that if I do not write my trip report within a week or so, I start losing details. In this case, I really wanted to remember.
I would be interested to see how you like Mexico, given your affection for Spain.
As for prices, I was not really economizing, but my total cost for hotel, food, tours, shopping, telephone, Internet, museums, and transport worked out to about $120 per day - so around 80 Euros if you look at it from a European point of view.
If economizing, $60 per day - so around 40 Euros - would be quite easy (although probably not if you do tours).

I was thinking you kept a dairy, as you tell things in great detail. Pictures always help me to remember, although sometimes I wish I made notes, so I could give someone else an address of a place that I liked.
I don't think that a long travel will work this year, as I am planning my move to Madrid, this summer. So all big (and expensive) travelplans will have to wait for a while. But there are a couple of places that I would like to visit in South-America. Mexico, Peru, and Argentina (Patagonia & Buenos Aires.) It will be for the future, and it will be one of the many destinations on my list.

I realise this is an old thread, and I realise I've been gone from this site for ages...butttttttt...
I notice you were in mexico city about the same time of year I will be there... can you give me any idea about what the weather was like? Am trying to work out what to take, but this holiday is grouped with a two trips to hawaii so am trying to do the sensible packing thing.

Nicstar, It's great to hear from you again! I thought you'd forgotten about us.
It sounds like you've been doing some travelling in the Pacific region. Any more trips to Europe planned?
Be sure to stop by once in a while.
Cheers!
