Hi,
I'm having a really hard time finding a place in Amsterdam. I had hoped to stay at the flying pig or the bulldog, but can't get reservations. I need a place that has single rooms available (or a twin I can pay for), I have a sleeping problem that won't allow me to bunk. Does anyone know of some hostels/hotels in Amsterdam that offer private rooms that have a fun atmosphere? I'd like to stay at a place where I can meet other travellers to hang out with.
I looked on hostelworld.com and hostels.com.. I understand there are alot of hostles in Amsterdam that don't have websites...
thanks

i stayed at the flying pig and loved it...they told me too they were full...but they lied! they did it to my friends three different times too....they just do room blockouts like any normal hotel would...it's worth a try just showing up.

The Flying Pig hostels set aside a certain number of beds for walk-ins. They will let a certain amount of beds be reserved then they have a certain amount for people that just show up.
Now, I'm not sure how this works for private rooms but I'm thinking the walk-in beds would just be dorms, rather than private rooms.
I would definately want a reservation for a private room for Amsterdam-it's a major flight and convention hub and is busy all year round!
