Sorry, Georgie-meant to reply but forgot. (See another post about my advanced age!) I haven't stayed in any of these-I stayed in the YHA in Geneva, which was decent but had a 10-4 lockout. I've heard the City Hostel in Geneva is extremely clean with good kitchen facilities (one on every floor, if I remember correctly). The Youth Hostel Barcelona, is that the Youth Hostel Mar? Haven't heard either way about the 2 for Florence but I have heard great things about Locanda Starlight, although I'm not sure if they have single or dorm rooms. www.locandastarlight.comI personally like the area of the Avenir Hotel better than the Hotel Le Quercy (a bit out) but with the subway system they have, it really doesn't matter. Thanks for your input. Helps a lot. I think we are just going to make reservations in Amsterdam, at the Flying Pig...and then wait to make reservations until we get there. Do you think we will be fine doing this? And/or do you have any advice as where to stay in the cities we are visiting? Paris, Florence, Geneva, Barcelona? Thanks for these awesome boards again and again! Take care! georgie
