Hi-
I am making reservations for my trip now, and some of the hostels I want to book do not have secure servers for online reservations. They simply want me to email or fax my credit card details.
I don't know if this is safe. What do ya'll think?
(After all the guidebooks and websites on theft, etc.. I'm starting to think everyone's a criminal!)

I would probably fax it before resorting to emailing it.
I do have one comment on this, people are pretty paranoid when it comes to credit cards on the internet. While it is definitely best to be safe, keep in mind that you give your credit card # out at the store, clerks can see it, other customers can, you give it out over the phone to the pizza guy etc.
In order of security though, I'd go with phone, fax, email.
