Hello everyone.
I am planning on backpacking through Europe although I have jsut started planning and have not come up with any specifics yet. I have done some traveling in the United States and found that often camping was more expensive than hostels when you are alone and not dividing the campsite fee. Is this consistent with Europe? Also is it convinent tpo get to cheap campsites? I don't want to carry a tent around and then find I barely use it.
I also only speak english and as I am planning on traveling alone I am a little worried about some places. Are there any cities or countries which are "too" dangerous if you don't know the language and are alone?
Thank you for your help, Susan

Hi Susan, The problem with many campsites in Europe is that they are a ways out of the city, which makes getting to and from them a pain-especially without a car. One of the best sites for camping in Europe is called the Karmabum Cafe. You will find it here: www.karmabum.comIt should have the information that you are looking for. For me personally, packing around the extra equipment and being far from the city makes me think hostels are a better choice. Kim
