I have been to Paris a bunch of times and stayed at many different hostels, but I am always looking for what I am missing. What are the best hostels that this city has to offer. My goal is to spend less than $20 per night if possible.

We stayed in a cheapy hotel as for a couple it was cheaper to do that then stay in a double as a hostel. If I stayed in a hostel, I think Le Village looks nice. Anyone that's stayed there want to offer feedback? www.villagehostel.fr/

D'Artagnan hostel was quite nice when I stayed there... but that was 13 years ago!
Snorkelman: Did you not like the hostels you stayed in, or are you the type of guy who likes to try new places?

Nitsansh - I have been to Paris about 10 times and I pretty much enjoyed most of the places that I have stayed. However, I am always asking questions. That way I get the scoop from people that have just returned. This helps me know whether certain hostels are going downhill or whether new ones have popped up. Also, I posted this thread to help get this message board going with a few questions that I thought would appeal to many visitors.

I hope I didn't offend you...
I noticed that you started many threads to get the board going... I posted many replies for the same reason...
Lucky you... 10 times in Paris and still going... I have only been once, or actually twice - 5 days for the first time and another one day 2 months later, because I flew out from Paris. For the first time I stayed with friends, and only the last day was in a hostel. When you stay one day, you don't care very much about the quality. I am the type of guy that allways look for new places... so I probably won't return to Paris until I see all of Europe... I visited 15 countries, have some 20 still left...
