Hi, I’m planning on a 7-8 week trip to the following places, and I was wondering if I could get your opinion on some places to stay. I’m most interested in it being cheap, clean, good location and relatively quiet. Let me know what you guys think… [and I’m traveling alone.]
Paris – Aloha Barcelona – Pension Alamar Rome – Fawlty Towers or Beehive or Yellow Florence – Ostello Archi Rossi Siena – Guidoriccio Hostel Venice – Ostello Santa Fosca or St. Croce Budapest – have no idea Vienna – Wombats Berlin – Circus Prague – Clown and Bard [although I noticed it’s on both the best and worst hostel list!] Edinburgh – Castle Rock Hostel Belfast – Queen’s Elms or Belfast International Youth Hostel Derry – Derry City Hostel or Clarence House Galway – Sleepzone Cork – Sheila’s Hostel Kilkenny – Foulksrath Castle Hostel Dublin – Four courts Hostel
Thanks, Candy

I stayed at Aloha in paris....i had no problems there at all! kinda loud at times, but it's a pretty care free place...we actually didnt spend much time there, but it was nice to have a nice, clean, modern place to stay.....i woudl stay there again. there's a great little pastry shop on the corner....wow.....truly heaven. =) i tried to stay at Archi rossi in florence, but i just walked up there and they were booked for the night.....i heard it was nice too in rome, try to stay at Guliver's House....most amazing time there.....

I stayed at the Yellow in Rome. It was ok. Met some nice people there. The shower was not the best, water got everywhere. Other then that it was fun. In Dublin I stayed at the Four Courts. I LOVED it. Very clean. huge kitchen, murals all over the walls, and the staff was just awesome. They have a partner hostel in Galway called The Galway Hostel and I stayed there and found it very nice. A little smaller but clean and the staff was great there as well.

Oh I forgot. I stayed at Castle Rock in Edinburgh as well. It was ok. I liked their Royal Mile one better but that is very small and hard to get a bed in as it is mostly regulars. I am going to try out their High Street one when I am there in May.

I liked the Clown and Bard in Prague... you can read my review on this site... When I go to Budapest next month, my first choice hostel is the Red Bus. If you can wait till then you'll probably see what I think of it... one thing for sure - it's as central as you can get in Pest!

I stayed at the Archi Rossi in Florence during winter and i liked it. People were nice and they have cafeteria/lunchroom that opens to an open garden. They do not take reservations thoug, and you have to pay for your room on a day-to day basis. Rooms were clean and the showers were big and spacious. I would stay there again. The Ostello Santa Fosca is alright. kind of simple actually: you get what you pay for in Venice: a bed in a dorm room shared among 6-8. The dorm has its own bathroom thou. It doesn't have any amenities like kitchen, social room. It fills rather quick but hte stuff will help you find another places. I would stay there again because its practical, decently location, and cheap. my 2 cents Bara
