I'm planning to fly by Ryanair to Barcelona arriving May 25th, then take the night train to San Sebastian on May 27th.
Do you recommend I book my Barcelona and San Sebastian Hostels. I should be arriving quite early. Also, I'm interested in staying at "Home Guest House" It seems really nice, but is a little out of the way. (15 min with the metro) How important is it for me to be in a central area if I want to party in Barcelona?
Thanks

when in barcelona....stay at Gothic Point hostel (make a reservation) ......it was a great place to have fun and party....the beach is not a far walk, and there seems to always be some sort of party on the beach...or at least there was one when i was there..... its a good central location...close to the metro...and the people staying there all wanted to have a good time.....hang out in their lobby and meet people.....(free internet too!!!!) i highly recommend staying there......

A great place in San Sebastian is called the Pension Larrea on Calle Narrica in the Parte Vieja. I was just there last week, and the owners are as pleasant as I remember them.
I tried to look for a website, but couldn't find one. I believe they are listed in Lonely Planet and Let's Go.
Cheers, Ray

Hi Lyane,
I do not know the exact prices there, but I believe a double room runs about 30 Euros per night, possibly slightly higher on the weekends. I could be mistaken, but in my opinion it is one of the best values for what you get in San Sebastian.
I was able to dig up some information about them:
PensiĆ³n Larrea C. Narrica, 21, 2nd fl. (943 42 26 94).
Have a great trip! Ray

I found this pension (in San Sebastian) on the internet. I think it looks lovely, the price is reasonable, and the location good. It's my plan to stay there when I visit San Sebastian........ It's called the PENSION AMAIUR. It's close to the beach and in the old part of the city. You're going in medium season so a single room is 24 Euros and a double is 38 Euros. You can find the website here: www.pensionamaiur.comHave fun!
