Did anyone here use a backpack with wheels for their main backpack?? What was your experience, was it convienent (spelling) or a hassle?? I am trying to decide what kind of bag to buy and the ones with wheels look pretty handy but i have never owned one so i just want some input before buying any type of bag!! Thanks in advance guys!!! ;D

The only time I would recommend a bag with wheels would be if you had a back problem and couldn't carry a backpack. The streets in Europe are often cobblestoned and it would be tough pulling a suitcase over that. Also, moving around on trains and that sort of thing would be way more difficult. The trains are often very crowded and there isn't room to pull a bag down the aisle. If you are planning on backpacking and budget travelling, I wouldn't get one. Actually, not too long ago I had an email from a girl asking the same thing. Then I got an email when she got back saying THANK YOU for talking me out of the bag with wheels! Kim

I did 5 weeks in Europe last fall with a (very) small backpack with wheels and my advice is NO. Going next year with a regular backpack. Just a major pain going up and down stairs with it (and there are a lot of stairs everywhere). Just my 2 cents worth.

I strongly agree with Kim - Assuming it has decent straps, if you can't comfortably CARRY your bag, you've got too much stuff.
