We are thinking of staying in Castle Rock when we go there, we are doing a MacBackpacker tour of the Highlands (not the Skye one) as we have to go in the middle of the week... Or should we just stay with one of the ones that they own? Beth when in September are you going? We will be possibly staying in Castle Rock on 13 September then going on our tour on 14-16 September...how exciting!

I have stayed at Castle Rock, Royal Mile, and High Street Hostels. All are owned by the people that do MacBackpackers. I like High Street the best. Though Castle Rock was okay. Royal Mile was mainly regulars living there. Casle Rock is more party then High Street from what I heard (I was only at Castle Rock one night so I did not see much of it).
You all are so lucky! I would love to go for a third time!!

Yeah, my next destination is Ayers Rock and Darwin (the REAL Australia!), so beautiful and rugged with native animals and native Australians still living their old ways. How I long to go there!
