Wow, I didn't realize there was so much interest on this thread lately! In response to one question, I did not have a car. The 2 guys that run the place will drive you the mile or two into town to the train station and from there you can get anywhere in Tuscany fairly easily. However, if you don't want to go alone, they also do bus tours of the surrounding towns, as long as they can get about 5 people to go. The cost for that was 20-30 euros but you get to see like 4 hilltowns (Volterra, San Gimignano, etc.) and they take you to a wine tasting. The hostel also rents out bikes for exploring the hills nearby. I payed 5 euros for half a day. The walking is also great and goes up into the hills right past abandoned villas and farmhouses. The hostel itself has a great kitchen with everything you could need to cook any kind of dinner and the pool outside is great for middle-of-the-day swimming. The area is very quiet and the hostel is surrounded by trees, but a short walk gives you some great views of the country.

I hope this is enough info to get everyone started, but if you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I'm already planning on my next trip so I can stay longer in Tuscany!

I agree..especially since dinner is basically included! I will email them closer to when I will be there to see what there schedule looks like. I don't even leave for London for another 3 weeks, won't be until beginning of Nov that I'll be in Tuscany.
And trust me, I will take lots of pictures!!
