American Express has some hostel offers!

I knew American Express sometimes has special hotel offers, but I didn't know they'd have anything for hostels. But they do in the Netherlands anyway, for 30 hostels, and perhaps elsewhere. You pay for two nights, and get the third night free with StayOkay.

As it turns out we previously found a cheap and apparently good hotel offer in Amsterdam, so I won't use this, but it could certainly be a good value.

Wow...thanks for sharing that information. I stayed in a StayOkay hostel in Amsterdam in 2003, and it was one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. The StayOkay Hostel at VondelPark is clean, comfortable and affordable. I highly recommend it. It's adjacent to the city's huge Vondelpark (think NYC's Central Park), the major art museums, and the active Leidseplein shopping/dining/tourist area.
