Hi!
I am flying out of London in Feb some time next year after seven weeks in Europe. I thought it would be relaxing if i could stay in a nice place close to the airport the night before i fly out. Has anybody ever stayed quite close to Heathrow before? and if you have where would you recommend? I'm willing to spend up to about $120 Australian dollars for a night but no more. Thankyou! ;D

$120 aussie is pretty low for a Heathrow hotel. Instead you could be better finding a place by Paddington, then take the heathrow express in (15 min).
That said, I've heard good things about the M4 Junction 4 Holiday Inn and the Park Inn Heathrow. Both are probably out of your budget though unless you were to get a pretty good deal.

I've gotten great prices for Heathrow Airport hotels through Priceline. Three times I've gotten the Holiday Inn Ariel, for prices ranging from $38 to $42 USD + taxes and fees/night total. This is for a double room at a 3* hotel. I go to the Central Bus Station at Heathrow and take a city bus that goes along Bath Road to get to it. I've always done this for a quick overnight stay. I buy a day transport pass at the airport (approximately 6 pounds) so I can subsequently go into central London. For more info about Priceline bidding, see www.betterbidding.com . The main drawback is not knowing which hotel in advance (just the area and quality) and that it's nonrefundable.

thankyou so much for the input. I realise that $120 is a bit low, but i wanted a bathroom not a fancy fancy place. I kind of figured when i'm staying at a place which is $40 a night anymore than $120 would seem a bit over the top.
