there is only one hostel from what i can gather (i'll be in siena in a few weeks) and apparently its a hole. my friend stayed there and said it was pretty gross and really far from town. all the reviews i've read online of it are horrible! anyways i'm going for the budget hotel (which doesn't really seem to be all the budget) cause i can't deal with disgusting places to sleep. apparently the hostel also has a really early curfew. anyhoo.... depending on when you are going, i can let you know how the place i'm going to stay is the name currently eludes me but all my stuff is packed at its early. jules

I checked some listings and was only able to find one Youth Hostel listed for Siena, the Guidoriccio Hostel. As Jules mentioned, it's out of town and can be reached via Buses #10 or #15. In this case I think you'd be better to pay a bit more and go for a budget Hotel, IMO. There are lots of hotels in Siena, bu you might have a look at www.hoteletruria.com or www.chiusarelli.com as these might have reasonable rates. You would have to check with them to find out current rates during the time you will be there. Hope you have a great time in Siena (I'll be following next year!!!).

stayed at that HI in Sienna last year. it's not wonderful, but i've stayed in worse.
it is a ways from the town square. and the bus schedule is less than optimal. but, the room was small; just two beds! [shared it with a young Swede; ran into him again in the Florence hostel, my next stop - he took a bus, i took a train]

ok guys... thanks again for all your help, but I think I found a decent place in Siena for not too bad of a price. www.bb-sanfrancesco.com/ Its Called San Franchesco Bed & Breakfast. Although they don't offer dorm-style accomodation, they do offer Double rooms (which is what we were kinda looking for) for 70euro per room per night (that's 35EU ea). Wat do you guys think?
