does anyone know a good hostel somewhere in london, or another large city in gb or ireland? one of those where you also can work for accommodation? a small one if possible, where everyone knows each other?

I'm not sure what you consider a large city. I'm in Edinburgh at the moment at I stayed at the Edinburgh Backpackers Hostel for a month. They usually are looking for cleaners and they have an arrangement where you stay free. They have a large dorm room upstairs where all the staff lives. All you have to do is clean from 10-1 every day (with 1 day off somewhere in the week). It's pretty easy and then you live there for free. Plus there is a fast turnover rate so sometimes good jobs like reception and hospitality in the nextdoor cafe come up if you're lucky. The hostel itself is a great time. I've been gone since December but still go around and have a ton of friends there.

Does anyone know anywhere else in the UK that does this? I'm wanting to move to the Southern coast of England somewhere, and was hoping to find work at the hostel.

I don't know personally, but I think there's a St. Christopher's at Lands End, so I'd check that out. I found this site that might help: www.fruitfuljobs.com/
