I'm trying to find the cheapest...but still clean and safe place to stay in London. Has anyone stayed at Annexe Hotel...it's close to Victoria Station? If you haven't stayed there, do you have any other reccommendations? My husband and I are looking for a private room with either a shared or private bath. Thanks ahead of time for any feedback.

The reviews on TripAdvisor are not that great. I'd choose one of these options, rather than looking for a cheap 1* gem: 1) Priceline. I've done this several times now and have gotten a 3* or 4* hotel room for something under 50 pounds all in per night. Drawback: your booking is nonrefundable, although travel insurance can help sometimes. See www.betterbidding.com2) If it works for your dates, consider student accommodation. www.venuemasters.co.uk/holiday_travelstay.asp3) A private room at a well-rated hostel. This will be more expensive than Priceline, though, most likely. 4) A B&B in an outlying area. Drawback: a significant commute. On one forum, this place is frequently recommended: www.serenade.ndirect.co.uk/

Thanks for the advice WillTravel. I just booked the Copthorne Tara hotel in Kensington...a 4 star....for 5 nights for $381.27 by bidding thru Priceline. Not bad, huh?

Excellent, Beckman! I think that hotel has fridges in their rooms, and it's pretty conveniently located.
