hey, me and a group of friends (4 guys total) are going to western europe this summer (late june to late july) and we are planning to go to these following cities (rough itinerary):
paris amsterdam berlin prague munich bern or geneva venice rome barcelona madrid pamplona ibiza
what we basically want to do is just enjoy everything, from sights and especially the nightlife...we want to meet a lot of other fellow travelers and locals and want to stay mainly at hostals that are known for partying and are filled with people who enjoy going out (preferrably younger people, ages 18-25, college aged people)...are there any suggestions as to any specific hostals anyone on here knows about in these cities that we can look into staying? Also, do you know which of those hostals we will have to make reservations before we leave the states ? Which ones can we just go there and get them, and just generally, can we just wing it and go to the big cities and just find a decent hostal. We are on a budget and just want to have fun. Any suggestions or advice would be real helpful....

paris i stayed in le village which was definately social but i don't know if i'd go so far as to call it a party hostel. ppl were social on the terrace until 11 (the allowed time) and then those that weren't done for the evening often went out to clubs.
as for the rest i either haven't been to or the hostels were not party hostels.
i'd recommend reserving ahead of time. its a very busy season and you might have trouble finding cheap and clean accommodation on the fly.

There's no need to post the same question twice....
For Munich I've heard good things about the Euro Youth hostel. It's ran by a brewery and has its own bar - what more can you want?
Barcelona - have a look at the Kabul hostel. I haven't stayed here, but again I've heard some really good things about it.
Prague - Hostel Elf. This place is crazy, with a 24hr bar. The summer is especially good, just sit outside drinking and talking until the sun rises - can't beat it.
As for Ibiza, I'd book as soon as you can. I'm not sure how many decent hostels there are on the island, especially around San Antonio (where the main clubs are). It'll probably be quite expensive, at least compared to the other places in Spain too. Same with pretty much all places in Germany (Football World Cup this summer, so beds are pretty hard to come by).

Euro Youth Hostel is great. For Amsterdam the Flying Pig Downtown is the way to go. They have their own bar and even a house bong along with a few different chill out areas. If you are there in the summer it is worth taking a trip out to the flying pig beach hostel, they have a shuttle that will take you there, was there in July, partying was hardcore and the beach was great. For Barcelona Kabul is the place, really cheap beer and perfect location, although they lack shower curtains for some reason late June to late July seems like a pretty tight schedule to hit up all those places man.

the peace and love hostel in paris is supposed to be a really fun party hostel and the backpackers hostel in rome has mandatory partying and a welcome shot when you arrive to get you in the mood.
