Should I book Wombats hostel in munich ahead of time or do you think there will be beds if I book a few days in advance?? Also, has anyone stayed at the new wombats hostel in vienna??

Hey Michelle,
I work at Wombat´s.
The new one in Vienna will open around May 15 (or so we hope - depends on construction, which is still going on). Anyway, 2 weeks later maximum.
Re: Munich: If you´re going anywhere in Germany between June 9 and July 9 (soccer world cup) book NOW.
October-April: don´t panic, there are always vacancies.
Summer: June and July are super-busy, you can be lucky and get something without reservation, but better book a few weeks ahead of time.
In the shoulder seasons (April-May and August 15-September 15) it should be OK to book a few days before.
Oktoberfest: We put availabilities online on June 1st, noon local time.

thanks Klaus! we will be there a week before world cup soccer (june 1st) so I think I will book ahead just in case there are people who get there a bit early. I will be in vienna june 3rd to 6th so I might stay there also, we'll see.
