Hi,
I am having a lay-over in Paris for one night and my flight doesn't arrive at Orley until 10 something at night and I have to catch another flight early next morning. So is it better to find a hostel near the airport or in the city center?
I was wondering if anyone can recommand some hostels that are near the Orley airport.
In addition, how far is the distance from the airport to Paris city center?
Thanks!

I assume both flights are at Orly airport? There isn't a hostel right by Orly. Look for a cheap Formule 1 or Etap hotel perhaps. I suspect you can find a hotel in that area for 30-50 Euros. Just make sure it 24-hour reception (actually, I don't think either Formule1 or Etap does, but you can let yourself in and out by credit card). Maybe splurge relatively speaking on an Ibis hotel with 24-hour reception. www.accor.comI know there are other hotel options as well. Alternatively, you could go into Paris, stay at a hostel in the Montparnasse or Eiffel area (La Maison maybe?), and go out to Orly the next morning. But I doubt you would save much, considering the cost of getting in and out of the city. BTW, I stayed in Montparnasse at a hotel, and took the Air France bus to Orly Airport which leaves from right outside the Gare Montparnasse (the Montparnasse train station). I think this was 7 Euros.

Hey Willtravel!
Thanks for you help! I ended up booking a Ibis hotel.... now let's just hope i can find the place. What do you recommand as a good mode of transportation to get around? would a taxi be too expensive?

Diana, did you just want to get between the Ibis and Orly airport, or were you hoping to go and visit Paris late at night? It's possible the Ibis has a shuttle between the hotel and the airport. If not, I suspect the taxi fare would be in the range of 10 Euros or less, if it's as close as I suspect.
