I will be in Gimmelwald in about a month and I booked at Mountain Hostel, www.mountainhostel.com/I read really good things about this hostel on this site and others, and it's very reasonably priced at 23 Swiss Franks. You have to email the hostel to reserve, and I booked the "honeymoon suite" which is a private room for the same price as a dorm.

I really liked it, but for the early cow song, but its part of the charm and the air is so pure, i would sleep all day, so its better off the song woke us up lol
I recommend it!

gimmewald is an awesome place. i was there about a week ago. i stayed in interlaken in the happy in lodge. you got to remember that there is no groceries in gimmewald. you can hike up to murren or take the ski lift down the mountain. just remember to pack food and all your supplies before heading up. it will cost you a lot if you keep going up and down the lift. also, switzerland is pretty expensive place. but overall interlaken and the jungfrau region is awesome!!
