Hi everyone!
Sorry for my MANY Paris posts...but I do have one more question for you. Has anyone heard of Mary's Hotel in Paris? The rate is unbeatable, and the small set of reviews seem to be good, but I haven't heard much about it.
Thanks all!!

I do not know the hotel personally, but my main concern would be that the hotel is on the outskirts of Paris in a less nice area than many that are more central. www.maryshotel.fr/

Hi,
I stayed at Mary´s in May last year.
It is NOT in the outskirts although not within walking distance to the sights either. Anyway, Paris is so big that you´ll need a Metro pass anyway. Mary´s hotel is just 50 meters from a metro station, and Republique station with some more lines is just a short walk away. You´ll be anywhere in no time.
I quite liked the neighborhood by the way. There´s a trendy "bar road" (forgot the name) nearby and plenty of cheap food options as well, most notably the inevitable cheap Chinese take-away just around the corner.
Mary´s is not the Ritz but the rates are indeed unbeatable. The rooms are tiny, but quiet and fairly clean. From what I could gather it´s Arab-owned and the entire extended family lives in a small flat on ground floor. The staff was efficient and very friendly. Breakfast was a downer (think croissant + instant coffee) and when we got up late even the croissants were gone.
Considering that most hostels in Paris are pure crap and the hotels there are usually way above my butget, I would stay there again anytime.
Bon voyage,
Klaus

SantaKlaus, I looked on TripAdvisor, and I see you are talking about Mary's Hotel in the 11th arrondisement, but the web page I was looking at for another Mary's Hotel was in the 20th arrondisement. So I agree with you if jt246 means the one in the 11th.
