Hi Kelly,
Well, judging from last year, the weather was fantastic in that time frame. All the "dead" lawns came to life and flowers started appearing everywhere. Absolutely beautiful. I would say the weather was between 65 and 75 at this time last year.
As for tourist season, that is the beginning of it. In fact, most of the year is considered "high" tourist season here. People seem to always be coming and going. To truly avoid it, you should come now. I walked across the Charles Bridge this morning and there were hardly any people there. ;D
Cheers, Ray

Thanks Ray ! As much as I would love to come now...... I think having 3 months off work this year has pushed my "puppy dog eyes" limit to the max - hehe And after being in Europe this past summer during the entire heat wave, that sounds like heaven! I guess I'll just have to deal with high season again, must work on that thing called patience.... that's all. So how do you think things will change with the Czech joining the EU? I've heard that it is currently very cheap to visit the Czech Republic - will it have a great effect? I'm not very informed on the subject at the moment, when is this even happening? Thanks Kelly

Hello again, The Czech Republic will officially join the EU in May 2004. I don't think it will have that much effect in the near term on how things are in the Czech Republic. Coming from western countries, the Czech Republic is indeed very cheap. But this has been changing a lot over time, and it is now much more expensive than it was even two years ago. I think things will really start getting expensive when the Czech Republic switches currency to the Euro. But this is not slated to happen until 2007 at best, and it may take longer until the Czech Republic meets all the requirements for switching over. I noticed this particularly in Spain, as things got drastically more expensive after the Euro went into effect. As far as tourism goes, I think the country's joining of the EU will make things much easier for travel. I am not sure what the laws will be, but I would imagine that Canadians will no longer need a visa to enter the CR, as they are not required for other EU countries. Who knows, maybe they will even join the Eurail system so the Eurail pass will work here. Cheers, Ray
