I am responsible for renewing and securing new passports for 15 people so we can attend our family reunion. Can you tell me what it costs?

If you are also responsible for paying the fees, this could be no small assignment since the costs increased last year. The charge for renewing an adult passport went from $40 to $55; the fee for a new one was raised from $65 to $85, while for children under 16, it rose from $40 to $70. Since first-time passport holders must appear in person when applying, there's a limit to what you can do to help some of the people in your group. And should you—or they—put off the responsibility until the last minute, keep in mind that the charge for expedited service has also increased, from $35 to $60 (travel.state.gov/passport_services).
