although the press seems to have ignored this fact, i saw it as an aside in an Elaine Sciolino - NYTimes article from Monday, www.iht.com/articles/538457.html , says that France's newest spokesman: Ilich Ramírez Sánchez (aka Carlos the Jackal), a really nasty fellow,
The implication of this is that Americans, and Canadians who might be mistaken for Americans, are open game for attacks.
A big "Thank You" to France for letting this statement get out!

sent a handwritten statement from a prison outside of Paris. It said all nationalities in the "service of the imperialist aggressor" were legitimate targets in Iraq but argued that because of its opposition to the war, "In Iraq, France must not be attacked."
