I heard EasyJet is preparing for a hostile takeover. Some other airline company just bought a large amount of their shares. I hope the prices don't go up. If I buy an easyjet ticket and they are taken over, would the "new" easyjet still have to honor my ticket?

I hadn't heard that, but I have heard of takeovers of hotels. In every case I've heard of, the new hotel honors the reservations of the old hotel.
In theory, airlines, even if not bought out, can cancel flights and refund your money if it's far away from the date, and in rare cases that happens with almost any airline.
If EasyJet looks like a good deal for you right now, I'd buy it and not worry a bit.
