Hello to all after a LONG LONG LONG silence
So We are in Spain right now and having a blast.......I guess I should go back to where I last updated my travels.....
So here goes the update.......
From London we flew in On Buzz to Paris.....the airline is OK nothing high class but for $75 CAD i will not say a word it was a good deal( and if booked ahead can be even better)
We got to Paris and found out that the RER which is a train company which besides other routes runs the trains from the airport to the center was on strike. So there was our welcome and forshadwoing of the things to come. We managed to get in to the city but it was so late....that our hostel was full. We did manage to get a room in a VERY VERY cheap but not the most exciting hotel. It was a real Perisian hotel LOL a 3 BED room ;D.
So the next day we checked in to the Y&H Hostel which is kool. The location is AMAZING if not for anything else i would totally recomend staying there...cuz its so close to everything. The hostel is OK, too many rules in my opinion but i liked it over-all i would give it a rating of 7.5 out of 10.
What else hmmm if u are planning on going to Paris anytime soon make sure there are no strikes yes I´m not kidding. The entire time we were there all the museums were on strike so yeah we have to now plan a different return route., so we can just stop in Paris and go to the museums.
OK moving on .......from Paris we got an overnight train to Munich....we got a couchette....and it was very kool. It was only 90 Francs and it was a 6 person couchette but it was empty so we had it all to ourselves...(in the off season a lot of them are empty)
We got in to Munich and to save a travel date on our EuroRail...checked in to the Hostel and got on a train to Fussen. Fussen is GREAT u gots to go the place is just so magical......the hiking is kool not to mention the "Disney" :)castle.
Well we got back into Munich around 10 pm and went back to our Hostel. Its called the Euro Youth Hostel and its a kool place...I mean the double rooms are very kool and the showers are AMAZING.....but here is the shiet part the Hostel has no age limit so u find more then half of the people being like 50 and practicaly living there.......kinda sick. Munich didn´t do much for me....i guess unless Ocktoberfest is on there is not to much to do there at night. We did have a great REAL GERMAN dinner but then decided to leave the next day.
We left for Switzerland...and GIMMELWALD to be exact. We decided to do a small stop-over on our way to GIMMELWALD just to check out Zurich for a few hours. So Switzerland is VERY $$$$$$$$ as all of u know BUT Gimmelwald is a hidden gem which is kinda out in the open with the bakcpackers but not the rest of the tourists. THe hostel ...Mountain Hostel is amazing.....so far a little more then a month into my trip is still my FAV place. Everyone is MEGA kool...the place is clean and DIRT DIRT CHEAP!!!!!....$15 a night ;D so u can´t go wrong. The place is so amazing that not only u save money but u fall in love with it. The Swis Alps are right there...and the view from your room is right at the Alps. There is a lot of hiking to be done and u meet a lot of very fun people all in their 20´s.<br>
We were sad to leave Gimmelwald but we had to and we moved on to Lyon. We got there at night and stayed at the HI hostel which we didn´t like......very impersonal and not to many young backpackers. The city also didn´t do much for us so we got out the next day to Bordeaux.
Now Bordeaux will be a kool city in 2 years but in the mean time i find it full of homless people...dirty...and full of construction. The Wine county is very nice and if u can stay in the country and don´t get close to the city. Do not do the Tourist office wine tour to $$$$ u can do it alone for fraction of the price.
