Hello all!
Well, we made it! We're currently in Conwy, in Wales, at the youth hostel. We flew into Heathrow last Tuesday and went directly to Bath. Unfortunately, it was RAINING!! We slugged through the wetness to our B&B, which was owned by the most friendly couple, Carol and Alwyn. We had a great time in Bath! The rest of our stay was dry and sunny, but cold. We went to the Roman Baths, took a walking tour, went to the costume museum, and ate some really good food. We also took a bus tour one day that went to Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle, and two of the cutest villages ever! It was a great way to get around, considering that we don't have a car.
We came to Wales on Friday. Wales is a very beautiful place with lots of castles and hiking. We hiked a couple of trails yesterday and today we explored two medieval castles, Conwy and Carnaefon. Both were a lot of fun but we are exhausted now!
Tomorrow we're heading to Blackpool (or Britain's Coney Island, as Rob likes to call it) and then we're off to the Lake District!
Here's a list of things we've observed since we've gotten here... or as we like to call them:
Things that make you go hmmmm...
The most popular dish in Conwy seems to be chili con carne.
The number one bestselling book in Bath? Michael Moore's "Stupid White Men (and I can't remember the rest of the title)"
England has daylight savings time too, but it happened a week before the states.
All the juice tastes like coffee.
I'm sure there's more, but that's enough for now. By the way, my mother is creating a webpage for us if you want to read about our trip in more details:
