I'm going to be backpacking in europe with some friends next spring and i need a bag to accomidate my pro slr setup, clothes, and camping gear. The closest product i've found is the lowepro Rover Plus AW II lowepro.com/pages/series/trekking/roverplusaw.htmThis will barely hold my camera, and enough clothes and gear for 2 months in europe?? I doubt it. so please, if anyone knows of something, any product, i would love to hear about it. thanks andrew

No chance. However you could get that bag and just use it in conjunction with another backpack? Most people seem to have a daysack/backpack combo.

This is going to be next near impossible to find. Maybe think about getting a regular pack for your clothes etc. (aim for a smaller size) and get a camera pack that you can wear on the front of you (opposite to how it should be worn). I have this one (in black) and love it as it flips open to reveal everything which is perfect for X-Ray machines. I have a Nikon digital SLR (D70) and it fits 1-2 other lenses or 1 other and a bunch of misc. crap on the bottom (which is what I usually carry!) The top has a small section that makes it great for a daypack - can hold water, guidebook etc. www.lowepro.com/pages/series/trekking/oriontrk.htmAs far as the camping goes, I don't really recommend it. You will be carrying all this extra gear and the campgrounds are far and few between. When you do find them, they are way the hell out and it's hard to get to them using public transportation. Many people think they will just camp in public parks etc., but that isn't allowed. Kim

The Pack that you selected appears to have been designed with Camera gear in mind. However, not sure if it's large enough to hold all the kit you plan on taking on your trip? I suspect that any Backpack with attached Daypack combination would work as well for this purpose. As you plan on camping and taking all the kit that goes along with that, you might need a larger Backpack (85L.?). Are you firmly committed to camping on your trip? Kim raised some good points about the locations of campgrounds, etc. With regards to the amount of clothes and other stuff you will be taking, one well known travel expert recomments that one should "pack the same for two weeks as for two months" (or something to that effect). Is it possible that you could pack more efficiently and wash more often, thus reducing the amount of clothing that you will have to haul around? For carrying the Camera gear, you could either use the Daypack or buy a smaller Cordura bag to house the Camera & accessories. Check www.eaglecreek.com as they have a fairly good line of Packs and cases. Also, Lowepro and some of the better known accessory manufacturers might have something suitable? Hope these few comments are of some help. Good luck with your Backpack purchase, and have a great time on your trip!!!
