I got to Budapest at noon today, and I will stay here until Saturday night, when I should fly back - if there is a flight...
After 2 weeks with no Israeli in sight (can you believe it?) I met many of them here... and I got the news that the strike has restarted... so tomorrow I will contact Malev to see if they have news on the flight on Saturday.
Yesterday at Bled was the first time I had bad weather. It was raining overnight, and in the morning was so cool that I needed to wear a coat...
At noon, when I had to travel to Zagreb, it started raining again... so my umbrella was in use for the first time...
In Zagreb I spent the last evening at Nenad and Pepica's home. Dubravko and Tanya also came with their 2 boys (whom I haven't seen before). In the morning they drove me to the airport. As I'm used to long check-in time in Israel, I got there at 8.30AM and was confused that Malev desk wasn't open... it appeared that they don't start check-in until 1.30 hour before departure time. You can safely arrive an hour before time and go through check-in, passport control etc. in 10-15 minutes.
It was again a SAAB340 airplane with 17 passengers and one attendant...
Warning to travellers to Croatia: There is no change office at the departure area at Zagreb airport, so change back your Kunas BEFORE passing the border-control gate. I didn't, and found no place to get rid of the 180 Kunas I had... fortunately, in Budapest you can change Kunas to Forints, but in many other countries they are worthless...
