Or, explore other great Scandinavian destinations and Rome. Purchase tickets by 11:59 p.m. CST on December 19, 2004. • Travel outbound on the transatlantic sector from December 13, 2004 through March 31, 2005 • Travel Mondays through Thursdays • Stay a Saturday night This is on Orbitz.com . Hope this link works. www.orbitz.com/App/GetDealsDetailsContent?OSC=B134kUZi9v!-2035557096!171067222!7001!-1&deal_id=air_sas_121304&source=dp&type=l&z=m05i&r=1e You can change the setting so it shows fares from your city (or hopefully one nearby). ============ Truthfully, although these are listed as sales fares, I'm not sure these are the very best deals you can get for these destinations, but I wanted to get dustoffmom's attention!

That was a great Venice article. I'll just have to vicariously enjoy the $6,600 suites, though - LOL. I'm hoping there won't be too many people who decide to take a post-Christmas break in Venice.
Now I'm wondering about the rain boot thing. My thought was that I could decide not to take them, and then buy them there if needed, but that article made that possibility sound difficult.

Well, again, I might just be lucky, but in three seperate visits in Dec/Jan time frame I have never yet had rain in Venice. As long as your 'walking' shoes are well waterproofed I think you can forgo the boots. Then again, sure as I tell you this it will pour every day you are there. But in the interest of space and weight....I say leave them at home and take your chances. ging

As luck would have it, a couple days I found a pair of very nice Rockport boots that are supposed to be waterproof. They're just as comfortable as any walking shoes and they're very warm. So I'll wear these on the plane, and pack my shoes, which are more compact. I won't travel without two pairs.
