Last night I stumbled on a deal for the Youth Hostel in York. (YHA). It's called the Sunday Night Explorer deal and it's only good for, you guessed it, Sunday nights.
For 20 GPS you get your B&B (18 GPS) and two of the above tickets. For example, the boat tour is 6.50 and the Jorvik Viking Center is 7 or 8 GPS. So, I wrote to them last night and changed my Sunday booking to this special and for 2 Pounds more I'm getting a cruise and an admission to the Center. ;D
It's good for the whole summer except for
;D

When I was in York I heard that the Jorvik centre was a bit overrated -- rather pictorial and popularised and geared to school students more than to serious interests. But at that price, no worries (though there are regular discount tickets from the hostel so you are not saving as much as it looks). Don't you have a Viking site somewhere in your part of Canada?
The railway museum is free, so you can add that to your list. I found some of it interesting.

Butting in to say that both Eagle and I loved the rail museum! I had allotted an hour or two and spent 4. Read Eagles travel reports for his input. It's a most interesting place...be sure and wind your way around to the workshops and warehouses!
