CGN = Cologne, which has lots of great fare deals lately.
I got a deal alert for this, and it seems like a real fare. It might work for months other than August. The flights are on United. The price is $324 + taxes + small Orbitz fee, making this about $555 USD.

Too bad I don't live in Vancouver, I'd take this deal! It's better considering the fares have been increasing.
Aren't you going to Cologne soon?

Yes - we are in February. And Cologne will be another point we hit in August too (that's the trip stemming from the NWA mistake fare to Bucharest). Too bad I can't take advantage of this latest airfare, but my vacation time is fully utilized .

Lucky you! Being a student, I don't have very much flexibility but I will be looking forward to hearing your trip reports!

I don't have that much flexibility - I usually have to plan way ahead to make sure my holiday plans can be managed in terms of work. The February trip just happened to fall in a gap. But I agree that I'm pretty lucky to have gotten two very excellent airfare deals for one year.
This general fare also seems to apply to London, according to the FlyerTalk people, and it can also be found on United.com .
And it's also available (in this general range) from SFO, DEN, NYC, and who knows where else. Other arrival airports include Munich and other United airports.
