Hey Everyone! I'm planning a trip to central europe and was wondering if I could get some comments on my itinerary. This is going to be either this coming spring after I graduate college or the fall after. What does everyone think about fall vs. spring? Also, is my travel time going to wear me out? I'm afraid it's going to be too much once I get there! I would appreciate any help!

Heading out but took a quick glance and the times you have for each city seem pretty good actually. I don't know some of those smaller towns so others will have to comment on them, including time spent and the travel between cities and such. Either way, from first glance it doesn't look cramped so you're off to a good start.

Well, it looks like you've got a pretty good plan there. If you're planning on using the public transportation system a lot in Budapest, I would suggest getting the Budapest Card. It's really a wonderful thing because it gives you 2-3 days worth of transportation (buses and streetcars) and it also gives you free or discounted admission to museum or any other sorts of attractions. But it's really only worth it if you will use the bus and visit lots. Also, you're going into Eger... it's such a beautiful little city and I'm glad you're spending a whole day/day and a half there. It's really worth it. I would suggest you go out into the countrysides - Szvarvasko, Monosbel etc. You can get to these litte countryside cities by train or by car... but I would suggest the car because the urban trains in Hungary are really a bit scary. At least I thought so. Other than that... I would suggest resting in Poprad and you should visit around a bit if you have time. I think it's worth it. And Poland is just beautiful... especially Krakow. If you're anything like me - a history nut - then you too will find yourself wanting to spend more than 2 days there. I didn't want to leave. Once you get there... there is so much to do, so much to see, so much to experience... it's a bit overwhelming, and you can't possibly get enough in two days. At least I couldn't... But that's about all for me, since I've never been to Germany, Czech or London... can't quite comment on those.

When I went only to the Czech Republic plus flying in/out of London Heathrow. I went in the spring and it was great because the weather felt like summer. I spent a lot of time outside of Prague, though... and some of the castles and attractions I visited weren't completely open yet because it was too early in the season (late May!). I don't know how late into the fall those same places are open, or whether or not you would run into seasonal closures in the other countries you'll be visiting.
