Well just about 2 weeks in Europe. I thought it was time for an update. Since finally I have found a place Ican relax and use their computer freely. Right now I am in the Aquiraum hostel in Budapest. Its a little run down but wonderful staff and good people! Just got to Budapest around 5 this afternoon. But here is my checklist of places done and my quick thoughts.
Rome- Amazing historical city. But a large city with lots of hussle and bustle. Met some great folks at the Pop Inn Hostel. My fav sight was the Pantheon. I was amazed by its structure. The height and the width of the building are exactly identical. So I was impressed.
Florence- Amazing small town. More fun than Rome. I stayed the hostel Archi Rossi. I dont really recommend that too much. I felt cramped and had lots of snorers! grrr! Besides that the Duomo was amazing and I found a country road by the Michelenaglo Piazza that had a spectaculor view of the city. Also the Cathedral St. Maria housed some great kids at night that played frisbee!
Varenna- Real nice small town no tourists around at all. Lovely Como lake to explore. Great place to relax and to bring a gal. Spent 2 nights here and just was a bum. I stayed in the Hotel Beretta. I hated the place when I left due to them overcharging twice and me not being able to argue due to a train I had to catch.
Gimmelwald,Swizterland- If you want to experience heaven go here. The best of backpackers I have found on the trip go up there and the sights of the Alps. Amazing. I watched many avalanches and I also hiked to Schlithorn where the James Bond restaurant is housed. Took a good 7 hours! Lots of fun! Mountain hostel all i have to say.
Interlaken- Touristy but great town to do extreme sports. I did some paragliding and absoutly blast doing it. I stayed at the Funny Farm which felt a little like a high school party but good none the less! But the town is expensive but great place to be!
Munich,Germany- My lord. haha I have never seen anything like this mess of a city. I loved it.. was a little concerned at first but loved it. I did the Mikes Bike Tour and dug every minute. Went to Dachue and thought it was really great to explore. Very depressing. But the large amount of beers in Munich made up for it. I also floated down the river in the middle of the city through the English Gardens. Which everyone must go to if they do Munich. Along with the spot where people go surfing in the middle of the city. Its a sight to be hold! I am almost have to say Munich is my favorite. 4 U Hostel not bad but go to the Euro Hostel much better.
Salzburg, Austria- Yoho Hostel. Lord I left a mark there.. I have created a new band with a travel mate and we are calling it the backpacker boys a spin off of the backstreet boys.. I had my first performance there. I have to Salzburg is a great city to visit. Do the ice cave tour! Something u will see no where else.
Vienna- Going back only spent one night.. and went to bed way too early doh! Well I am off I gotta go to bed! more reports to come!!
