Just wanted to say a quick hello since I haven't written in almost a week.
Today we went to Dunnotter castle in Scotland. It's got to be the most amazing place I've ever been. It's right on the ocean with huge cliffs overlooking it. Since it's a Monday and it's not in a heavily-touristed area, there weren't many people there. It's protected by the trust, but you can feel free to go anywhere there (anywhere safe that is). It's a huge ruined castle with all sorts of cool places to peek out of. We took loads of pictures and even a few with the panoramic so hopefully I'll be able to show everyone cool photos when I get back. It's a million stairs, but worth every one of them. Then you can schimmy down the cliff to the ocean beach and look at the kelp and shells and volcanic looking rock. It was a simply magical place, I hope the photos turn out half as beautiful as it was!!!
We also went and saw Crathes Castle. We didnt go in since it was closed already, but the gardens were open and they were amazing. The whole garden must take a dozen full time gardeners to keep up with and its bigger than a football field. They have wild flowers, trees, shrubs, fountains, fields, everything. It was absolutely gorgeous!!!
The people we're with have a digital camera, so I was looking forward to including a photo with this email, but it's acting up. Everything else is going great. We're going out to a fabulous restaurant tonight and it's into the city of Aberdeen tomorrow for shopping. After that, we leave for Rome!!! Luckily we're staying with friends here, so we'll leave with clean clothes and well rested
Having an absolutely fabulous time and looking forward to telling everyone all the stories when I get back.
Cheers!
Cheryl
