My friend and I are planning a 2 month europe trip in April and May. This is our rough draft so far of the cities and countries we are thinking of visiting. We would love some feedback on the cities and how much time to spend in each. Also which order is best to travel from city to city. We are also thinking this may be too much for 2 months as we want to take our time in the cities and not travel all the time.
England- London (maybe a day trip to Bath) 4 days
France- Paris 4 days Nice (day trip to Monaco or Cannes) 3 days
Spain- Barcelona 4 days
Portugal- Lisbon or Lagos 4 days
Italy- Rome (day trip to Pompeii) 4 days Venice 3 days Florence 3 days Cinque Terre 3 days
Belgium- Brugges 3 days
Germany- Munich 4 days
Netherlands- Amsterdam 3 dayd
Czech Rep.- Prague 3 days

All of them look pretty doable. Only nitpick I have concerns Munich. 4 days seems a bit too much. Why not Berlin? If you weren't planning on going there, I'd probably have ditched Munich and added the extra days to London (since going to Bath will require an entire day) and maybe Prague or Rome.

thanks for the quick reply! yes we were actually thinking of adding Berlin and cutting Munich down to 2 days. We were also thinking of going to Lucerne..would 2 days be enough?

You are pretty good on the days required in each city. Pompeii is a daytrip that will last a whole day, so that leaves you with three days to spend in Rome, so i would add one day in Rome. If I am counting the days you have a trip of about 45 days, so you have some margin to add some towns, or some extra days in a couple of cities. I would also see Munich in two days, unless you really want to see the castles in the south of Germany (Neu and Hohenschwanstein), in that case I would take two days in Munich, and one day as a daytrip to the castles. So in total 3 days. Personally I would rather try to get to Vienna, instead of Lucerne. And I would also add Berlin. Both cities for at least 3 but if you have the time 4 days. Will you be arriving and leaving Europe on the same airport, or are you planning to get Open Jaw tickets? If it is possible then I would try to get a flight to the South of Europe, when you arrive and to start the trip there. In that case Madrid, has one of the biggest airports in the South, and good connections on continental and domestic flights. (no it's not me trying to get more people to Madrid ), Maybe arriving in Barcelona is also an option, but you have to check when you are looking for the tickets. Maybe Lissabon would be even better. The weather will be good in April, and it might not be so pretty in the more northern countries (at least under normal circumstances). This I why I would start in the south As far as the order is concerned, I would suggest to do it like this: Spain- (Madrid 4 days)Portugal- Lisbon or Lagos 4 days Spain- Barcelona 4 days France- Nice (day trip to Monaco or Cannes) 3 days Italy- Cinque Terre 3 days Rome (day trip to Pompeii) 4 days (5 days?) Florence 3 days Venice 3 days (2 days?) Germany- Munich 3 days (daytrip to Neuschwanstein) Austria Vienna 4 daysCzech Rep.- Prague 3 days Germany- Berlin 4 daysNetherlands- Amsterdam 3 days Belgium- Brugges 3 days (maybe one daytrip to Gent?) France- Paris 4 days England- London (maybe a day trip to Bath) 4 days

I like herrbert's suggestions and his itinerary. It looks very ideal and it's something that you could use and maybe maybe a few changes here and there but the overall set-up is ideal.
As for Rome, I would suggest 4-5 nights minimum including the daytrip to Pompeii.
