I posted here ages ago.. I guess I been thinking about europe alot lately.. think I go through phases..
At times I even thought of scrapping the idea, and going straight to uni, but when do you get the chance?
I'm not really sure about working there, I know I was enthusiastic, but as cliched as it sounds, if Im gone for too long, I'll miss my boyfriend, so I have given my about 3 months to travel... in about April-July
Just an idea is (think some places are wrong order)
Melb - Thailand (probably not the best destination at the moment!) or Asia somewhere for about a week - either before or after Europe.. England - London (4 days) Scotland - Glasgow (6 days) --day trips and family France - Paris (4 or 5 days) - Normandy area (3 days) -- friends casle Belgium - Bruxelles/Braine Le Comte -- friends (3 days) Germany - Rhine Valley (Koln), (3 days) - Berlin (4 days) - Munich (4 days) (day trips to surrounding areas) Czech Republic - Prague (4 days) (maybe 5 with day trip?) Poland - Krakow (3 days) Slovakia - Bratislava (3 days) Austria - Vienna - (3 days) Hungary - Budapest (3 days) Croatia - Dubrovnik (4 days) - Various islands (5 days) Slovenia - Bled (3 days) - Ljubjana (3 days) - Piran (3 days) Italy - Venice (2 days) - Bologna (2 days) - Rome (4 or 5 days) (inc day trip) - Florence (3 days) - Siena (2 days) - Cinque Terre (3 days) France - Nice (3 days) Spain - Barcelona (3 days) (already been previously)
Ok.. hows that? If you could give me improvements thatd be great thanks..

Seems to me you have been thinking about it for a long time. I think you are spot-on. You have made a great combination of cities. Personally I would put 1 day more to Vienna (but it's one of my favourite cities). Rome including a daytrip, I would put down for 5 days. Maybe one question: You are spending more than two weeks in Italy (fair enough), but for Spain you only put down Barcelona, maybe a couple of days in Madrid and some in Granada would be an idea?

Yeah, everything looks good with the exception of Spain. What's the point of going there if you're only staying there for 3 days. It might be nice to add on an extra city or two, like herrbert suggested. Would probably make the trek to Spain more worthwhile!

hi, some thoughts from David:
although i haven't been to either place, i've read here, & elsewhere, that Brugge is a more interesting place in Belgium than Brussel.
also it might work better, looking at a map, to go Prague, Krakow, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest.
again, looking at a map, it might work better in Italy after Venice, to go visit Siena between Bologna and Rome, or between Rome & Florence. (i did the later, but never went to Bologna)
i don't blame you for wanting to go back to Barcelona, i'd love to. but, as you've been there before, have you thought any about going to Southern Italy instead?
i've never been South of Rome, but have heard good things about Sorento/Amalfi area. also about Taromina, in Sicily.
