Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this forum for their knowledge and info. Also to kim and any other admin or moderators for their time and energy being put into this forum for people like us.
I've actually been lerking here for a little over 6 months while my girlfriend and I planned our 6 week european holiday. We leave in 3 weeks, 4 days, 4 hours and 22 minutes
Here's what you all helped plan:
Flying from Brisbane, Australia
3 nights in London
4 nights in Paris ( already booked and paid for Moulin rouge, disney land and a river cruise )
Travelling via www.elipsos.com gran class. we found half price tickets as the allocated eurail passes were sold out
Barcelona 2 nights
Nice 1 night
Cinque Terre 2 nights
Modena ( ferrari factory ) 1 night
Florence 2 nights
Rome 2 nights
Venice 2 nights
Interlarken 2 nights
Lacerne 1 night
Munich 1 night
Budapest 2 nights
Vienna 2 nights
Prague 3 nights
Berline 2 nights
Amsterdam 3 nights
We're backpacking but with a decent budget to lash out here and there. Accomodation is mostly through hostels, booked via links from this site ( thanks kim!) apart from a couple of cheap motels where friends have recommended. Some of the places we're staying at are a little bit of a lash out as well like www.kamer01.nl/eng.blue.html in amsterdam.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their input and info. I'm sure we're not the only lerkers out there reading and learning from other people's questions.
