hello, im new here. ive read lots of your posts and found them really helpfull. i was wondering if you could help me with a few things... im going to europe with two friends in frebruary 2008. we are not sure of the number of days to spend in some of the cities. can you tell me what you think? barcelona 3 (is it enough with two?) paris 3 + 1 day for versailles brussels and bruges 2 and 2... is it enough for each one? prague 3 days vienna 3 days and a daytrip to salzburg (is it enough?)
we havent decided how many days we are going to stay...but our budget is more or less for 20-25 days... is it enough? thanks... this is our first trip to europe and we are really excited... besides, argentinian peso is really devaluated and it took a lot of time to save the trip money...we want to make a good use of it.. thanks... i love the website, it has really helpful tips...

depending where you're coming from, you may need extra time in your 1st destination to get over jetlag.
to me, Vienna is the number 2 or 3 city in Europe, after Rome and, possibly, London. if you include a day-trip to Salzburg, 3 days there wouldn't be enough, imo.
never been, but based on what i've read, Brugge rates more time than Brussel.

Hola virgicin,
I would think:
Barcelona: 3 days is ok, if you really stick to the city. Paris 3 days + 1 day for Versailles is enough, but it depends a lot on your interests. For art-lovers more days would be recommended to see at least a couple of the museums. I would say take 2 days in Brugge, and make a daytrip to Brussels. Prague 3 days sounds ok, but like Barcelona, stick to the city. If you want to make a daytrip (Cesky Krumlov) that would need an extra day. Vienna in my opinion needs a minimum of 4 days.
As you would be traveling in February, expect it too be cold in Prague and Vienna, and I think it would be wise to calculate some extra time for delays.
Saludos! René

barcelona can be done in 3 days. most of the sites are within walking distance from each other so you'll see most of it by 3 days.
paris: if you love art and history try giving it 4 days with one day in versaille. i just love that city and keep going back everytime i go to europe.
vienna: 3-4 days is definately enough.
the other cities in your itinerary i haven't been in so i can't really say for sure.
