10 Days and Counting................
Sunday, 3 August 2003
In exactly 10 days I will be leaving Toronto en route to Europe. I can't wait!!!
Admittedly things haven't been exactly smooth sailing since my last entry. For a little while there it looked like everything was falling apart. I went from being completely together to being a mess. It was basically coming down to not being able to travel at all. This despite careful planning, rail passes having been purchased, and reservations having been made.
Thankfully after a lot of praying and the help of a complete angel at Travel Cuts on College St. everything was resolved. Now everything is back on track and I'm so much more relaxed than I was a week ago!
Right now I'm basically getting things in order for my departure. Soon I will begin going through my clothing and packing.
This is quite the adventure I'm about to embark on -- to be honest I don't know if it has sunk in yet. Perhaps it will hit me when I leave Toronto. But I'm more inclined to believe that it will hit me when Mohammad leaves Paris.
I would like to end with a word of caution to anyone dealing with the French Consulate in Toronto: Do not assume that because you have asked a question numerous times you have been given the right answer. In fact I think it would be wise to distrust what they say and do some research on your own before concluding they are correct. You can never be too careful!
That's it for me -- I'll probably write again a couple of days before I leave. In the meantime please send some happy thoughts on my behalf up to heaven!
