Revised 2 Months Itinerary - your thoughts? =)

My flights are booked and my itinerary is almost set.. I've had to do a couple of tweaks, the most noticeable is going from Rome to Munich in the first week.. I had originally planned to go after Innsbruck, but due to a huge trade fair in the first week of May, I've had to change as everything is booked out or costs an arm and a leg (and I'll probably need those.. ;D)

Am I relying on the overnight trains too much?

Also, what is Gimmelwald like in the 1st week of May? I done a little research for Murren and found that most things are closed around that time? Has anyone had any experiences with that?

It doesn't make sense to go Italy-Germany-Italy....

Other than that, I think the # of days in each city is adequate and reasonable...

I would suggest to travel this bit by day, You are crossing the Alps. (I think you will also pass Innsbruck), So it should give you some great scenery, and it would be a shame to miss that because it's dark. I would travel on the morning of the 22nd, Venice can also be done in 2,5 days.

Munich looks a bit odd, I agree, but you already explained why, that is, and a cheap flight is a nice solution.

I think to remember from another topic, that the nighttrain from Berlin to Amsterdam is in fact the nighttrain from Berlin to Brussels, with a normal connection (in the morning) to A'dam. If that is true, you could also do Bruges before A'dam.

Are you overdoing it on the nighttrains? I don't know, if you can sleep on them, they are fine, if you can't you can have a problem. Did you check if there was a nighttrain between Vienna and Bled? The distance seems so short? (6 hours travelling time in the daytime), the only nighttrain I can find has a stop at 1.30 in Salzberg, and one at 4.30 in Slovenia, only to continue at 6.15. (so you are not moving for almost 2 hours!) So I don't think you will get much sleep on that one. so in this case I would opt for a normal train, and to leave Vienna in the morning (a little bit early, so you can have most of the afternoon to explore Bled)

The same for Cinque Terre - Gimmelwald. If i check the details, I see there is no nighttrain, the datails show that you would arrive in Interlaken at 1.00, and continue at 6.00.

btw: I think I would cut off one day of Innsbruck to add it to Vienna. Innsbruck is not that big, and most of it can easily be seen in one day. I would then suggest to take a trip to the Hafelekar. (great views). But the three days in Vienna, will pass really quick.
